“The Journalism Science Alliance 2026 call aims to forge new alliances between media and academia or research institutions, ramp up pertinent skills and operations, and deliver in-depth investigative reporting on topics of public interest, ranging from climate change and healthcare to emerging technologies and local governance.

“Teams that include at least one media outlet and one research or academic organisation can apply for grants of €10,000, €20,000 or €50,000. Selected projects also receive mentoring and access to training and networking opportunities.

“For those interested in applying, we will host two online AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions to answer questions about eligibility, partnerships, and the application process, on 5 February and 5 March 2026.”

There are two calls for applications during the 2025–2026 funding cycle. First call closed August 4, 2025. Second call closes March 23, 2026.
