Oak Spring Garden Foundation residencies and fellowships

The Oak Spring Garden Foundation “is dedicated to inspiring and facilitating scholarship and public dialogue on the history and future of plants, including the culture of gardens and landscapes and the importance of plants for human well-being.”
Oak Spring offers four fellowships: the Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study for work in some area related to the history, art, and culture of plants, gardens and landscapes; the Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence for an early-career artist who is developing new works that address plants, gardens, or landscapes in the broad sense; the Plant Science Research Fellowship for an early-career plant scientist; and the Plant Conservation Biology Fellowship, awarded to one outstanding, early-career practitioner, scholar or scientist working on issues related to plant and landscape conservation in the broad sense. All fellowships include a $10,000 grant. There are also 2- to 5-week residencies offered to people working in the arts, humanities, and plant sciences, as well as plant or landscape conservation. The 2024 deadline to apply for all programs is May 31.
