DESCRIPTION:ScienceWriters is the largest U.S. convening for journalists\, authors\, editors\, producers\, institutional communicators\, students\, and people who write and produce material intended to inform the public about science\, health\, engineering\, and technology. The conference attracts 600-800 attendees from North America and beyond. \nIn addition to this weekend of in-person events September 25-28 in Corvallis\, NASW will also host a virtual-only component October 14-16. \nScienceWriters is a meeting for science writers\, by science writers. \nGrants available: \n\nSciWri26 Support Grant: Up to $1\,200 in expenses for in-person attendees and up to $100 in expenses for virtual attendees. Deadline: August 5.\nScience Writers Mentor Academy and Travel Grant: Apply by July 31 to participate in the Science Writers Mentor Academy. You may also apply for a travel fellowship to ScienceWriters2026 as part of the program.\n\n
