DESCRIPTION:“We’re now accepting applications for the Women Photograph Mentorship Program! This year\, we will pair six early career photographers with an industry leader as a mentor\, and provide $3\,000 in support for work on a local visual storytelling project over the course of six months. \n“We are currently seeking applications from women and nonbinary photographers of any age with less than five years of professional work experience who might be interested in long-term support. Please make sure to read the FAQ at the bottom of the page\, but if you still have questions please contact hello@womenphotograph.com. \n“The mentorship program will take place remotely over the course of July-December of 2026\, and requires proposing work on a specific project throughout that period. We will strongly prioritize photographers looking to work locally / within their own communities\, and estimate that the mentorship will require a minimum of 8-12 hours of engagement per month. Mentors will be selected specifically because of their areas of expertise in relation to each selected mentee’s project and practice. \n“The photographers who stand to benefit most from this program are already at the beginning of a documentary/photojournalistic practice and looking for targeted guidance and mentoring in the early stages of their career.”

DESCRIPTION:“Thanks to generous support from Leica USA\, these three $10\,000 grants will support photography projects — either new or in-progress — from visual journalists working in a documentary capacity. \n“Funding may be used to cover the hard costs of reporting\, photographers’ creative fees\, and any other expenses that support the production of new work. This grant is not meant to support the production of books\, exhibitions\, workshops\, or other secondary materials. \n“These grants are open to women\, nonbinary\, transgender\, and intersex documentary photographers of any nationality. Central to Women Photograph’s mission is to be inclusive of and support work from photographers who represent a diverse range of identities\, geographies\, and experiences. You do not need to be a member of Women Photograph to apply. \n“There is no fee to apply.”

DESCRIPTION:“At Mongabay Latam we are celebrating 10 years and we are going to celebrate them with the PUMA FEST: I Latin American Festival of Environmental Journalism\, a meeting for journalists\, teachers\, students and anyone who is interested in journalism and the environment. The event is on July 23 in Bogotá and the event is completely free. \n“We partnered with the Gabo Foundation to make the PUMA FEST the preamble to this year’s Gabo Festival\, which will also be held in Bogotá one day after our meeting\, from July 24 to 26. \n“At PUMA FEST you will be able to participate in workshops\, learn about the methodology of award-winning environmental research\, learn about indigenous communication experiences in the Amazon\, attend discussion tables on the political situation of the environment in Latin America\, and participate in networking spaces. There will be more than 20 international speakers and specialized journalists.”
