The Impact Seed Fund (ISF) is a microscale grant to support education and research activities with the aim to enrich the perspectives and knowledge within the university community—specifically students and educators. \n“Central to the program is the intentional use of Pulitzer Center-supported journalism on the climate and the environment as a key resource and reflection in classrooms and beyond. The ISF facilitates a deeper understanding of complex issues by connecting multidisciplinary knowledge\, learning activities\, and field-based reporting. It encourages critical thinking about systemic issues and constructive approaches that address the most pressing challenges facing the ecosystem and the communities who rely on them. \n“The 2026 ISF focuses on ocean\, transparency and governance\, and climate change\, rainforests\, and its interconnection with workers and vulnerable communities. For this reason\, there are no minimum academic requirements. \n“Projects should be based in locations that overlap with NG-LEX voyages\, including the Arctic\, Asia\, Baja California\, Costa Rica and Panama\, Europe and the Mediterranean\, Patagonia\, the Peruvian Amazon\, the Pacific Northwest\, Southeast Alaska and British Columbia\, the South Pacific\, and the United Kingdom and Ireland.” \nGrants up to $75\,000 are available.
