Storygram: George Johnson’s “Why everyone seems to have cancer”
George Johnson, the author of nine books, is a former reporter and editor at The New York Times. He won a AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award in 2014 for this story about perceptions of cancer statistics. This annotation was done by Joanne Silberner.
The Storygram series, in which professional writers annotate award-winning stories to illuminate what makes a great science story great, was a joint project of The Open Notebook and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing.
