Journalists face a difficult reporting challenge: how to cover a field marked by scientific uncertainty, potentially far-reaching risks, uneven governance, and sharply different views about whether and how research should proceed.

“Designed exclusively for journalists and media professionals, this introductory webinar will provide a balanced foundation for reporting on solar geoengineering. It will also introduce a solutions journalism approach to covering solar geoengineering. This does not mean treating solar geoengineering itself as a ‘solution’ to climate change. Rather, the webinar can help journalists critically examine responses to challenges surrounding the field—from research governance and public participation to misinformation and gaps in oversight.”
