ScienceWriters2025

November 7, 2025 - November 9, 2025

The National Association of Science Writers and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing are excited to announce that ScienceWriters2025 will take place in Chicago, November 7-9, at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare. We are thrilled to be able to bring the community together this fall in a city with vibrant cultural and scientific opportunities. In this challenging time, we are pleased to have secured a convenient midwestern location with reasonable rates, which we hope will keep costs lower for attendees. The virtual portion of the conference will take place online October 22-24.

Update Oct. 27: More than 600 people have registered for the annual ScienceWriters meeting, which kicked off last week with three days of virtual sessions. CASW will open the in-person meeting in Chicago on Nov. 8 with the 13th annual Patrusky Lecture, to be given by quantum scientist David Awschalom. Other CASW-organized highlights include a keynote lecture on the future of U.S. science from former OSTP director Kelvin Droegemeier, seven New Horizons in Science briefings on topics from vaccines and space policy to AI’s environmental impacts, and a workshop for winners of the 2025 Eric and Wendy Schmidt Awards for Excellence in Science Communications.
