“The African Investigative Journalist of the Year Award is the continent’s premier investigative journalism award. Hosted by the Wits Centre for Journalism and supported by Absa Africa, the award recognises outstanding and impactful investigative reporting from across Africa.

“The prizemoney includes US$5000 for the winner, US$2000 for the runner-up, while the flights and accommodation costs of all finalists are covered to enable them to attend the AIJC” (African Investigative Journalism Conference).
