Summary:

"Journalismfund Europe vzw is an independent, non-profit intermediary organisation based in Brussels and founded by citizens in 1998. It was set up with the aim of strengthening democracy in Europe by facilitating independent, cross-border investigative journalism and by bringing donors and journalists or media together without endangering the journalists' independence." Various calls are issued each year. The 2026 grants include (but are not limited to):

  • Environmental Investigative Journalism: €400,000 per call. Deadlines: Jan. 22, April 23 and Aug. 6, 2026.
  • Professional Development for Environmental Journalism: €75,000 per call. Deadlines: Jan. 22, April 23 and Aug. 20, 2026. €65,000
  • FPD Science: €65,000 per call. Deadlines: Jan. 22 and April 23, 2026.
  • European Cross-Border: €280,000 per call. Deadlines: March 19, May 21, July 30 and October 1, 2026.
